In the early times two people would sit face to face and fight till one died or collapsed and one survived. Gradually boxing became more civilized and people started wearing gloves and protective guards and rules as knockout were put in place. If you look into the boxing history there is little account of the game in ancient books describing of any type of international tournaments.</p>
<p>Mohammad Ali, crowned as the sportsman of the century by BBC in 1999, is undoubtedly the best boxer the ring has ever seen. Originally knows as Cassius Clay Mohammad Ali won the light heavyweight boxing gold medal in 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. And later went on to win 56 of 61 professional fights during his boxing career. In 1964 Mohammad Ali was crowned heavyweight champion after beating Sonny Liston in Miami Beach. Ali was defeated by his match in 1970 by Joe Frazier in the 15 round and lost his title. In 1974 he regained his title after an awesome boxing match against George Foreman. Ali won his third and final crown in 1978 against Leon Spinks.</p>
<p>The great boxer joined the Nation of Islam in 1964 and converted to Muslim in 1975. He was refused by US Military based on his religious belief and his opposition to Vietnam War in 1967. Soon after he was found guilty of draft evasion charges and was stripped of his title and banned from boxing ring. He later rejoined boxing after his appealed won the Supreme Court four years later. Mohammad Ali was diagnosed with Parkinson Disease and had to retire permanently from boxing shortly after his fight with Leon Spinks in 1982. Mohammad Ali also made his name in his campaign for cause helping developing countries all around the world to establish human rights. The legendary boxer&#8217;s legend lives on till this day as the best pound to pound boxer the ring has ever seen.</p>

That is why it is important for you to do the right boxing training workouts so you can be better prepared for it. A boxing workout actually depends on the skill level, or even the age level, of the person who wants to learn the sport. If you are really serious about it, you should follow the standard three-minute rounds for 10 repetitions. That is on a daily workout basis. It actually depends on your level.</p>
<p>First three-minute boxing workout: Stretching and warming up through jogging. Do some shadow boxing as well. Second, third and fourth three-minute boxing workouts: Actual boxing round, but focus more on building up your speed. Make sure that you get adequate rest after each round. Fifth three-minute boxing workout: By this time you should be able to figure out which are your strongest punches and therefore you should start working on your weaker punches. Sixth three-minute boxing workout: Work on increasing your punching speed by practicing on the light punching bag. Not only can you build up your speed, you can also train your eyes to watch your fast punches. Seventh three-minute boxing workout: It is your choice. You can continue working on the light punching bag or move up to the heavy punching bag.</p>
<p>After all of these seven workouts, do some more warm ups like jogging or work on the skip rope so you can slowly lower your body heat. Then head on to the shower to refresh yourself. However, keep in mind that not only the physical side of it that is most important in any boxing workout routine. What you put into your body is equally important. For example, you should not eat a very heavy meal a couple of hours before you step into the ring, either for workout or a full boxing match. And you should not drink coffee or drinks that have too much caffeine as it can affect your energy level and concentration. If you want a perk, go with a tea instead.</p>

This is because they understand that in contrast to the lay person&#8217;s opinion that it is not just a match of exchanging random blows, but that the opponents must rely on employing great strategy to win.</p>
<p>Many martial arts and MMA fans may now find boxing dull in comparison to the UFC or hate not being able to use their feet and have the ability to use all their techniques. However boxing being one of the oldest fighting arts is also one of the most developed. Whether you practice Tae Kwon Do, Karate or Muy Thai there are many lessons you can learn from understanding boxing strategies that can be used in your martial arts tournaments. Any serious fighter should also spend time practicing sparring using just punches or kicks in order to develop and hone those skills to perfection.</p>
<p>There isn&#8217;t one magic strategy to master for every fight but a number of strategies that can be used depending on your on physical characteristics and talents and be used used against differing opponents depending on their strengths and weaknesses. You also need to learn to change up strategies because as you progress your way up the food chain there is big money at stake and your opponent&#8217;s camps will focus a lot of time and resources on studying your style and tactics.</p>
<p>There are basic strategies that are more common sense than anything else like using distance to your advantage. If you have longer arms then keep your opponent farther away so they cannot get any shots in. Or if they have a longer reach find a way to close the distance and get inside their optimal striking distance. Or like Muhammad Ali learn to make your opponents tire themselves out so till you can slow them down and weaken them enough to get in that perfect blow on the knock out button. In the case you are up against a fighter with incredibly strong punching power and he has a chin of steel you may want to work on his arms until they are so numb he can&#8217;t hold his hands up and then you can finish him off in any way you want. Finally learn to become unpredictable, don&#8217;t let your movements telegraph your next shot, throw them off with your rhythm and catch them by surprise!</p>

The fight is controlled by a referee who works with the boxers in the ring to judge and control the conduct of the fighters. There are normally three judges present at the side of the ring to score the bout and assign points to the boxers, based on punches, defense and knockdowns. The boxers have an assigned corner of the ring, where his or her coach may manage them at the beginning of the fight and between rounds.</p>
<p>The bouts are won by boxers normally by points given by judges but bouts can also end in split decisions and draws. A boxer may win the bout before a decision is reached through a knockout which is when a boxer is knocked down during the fight and the referee begins counting and should the referee count to ten, then the knocked-down boxer is ruled out as knocked out. A boxer can also win a bout by a technical knockout which is when a boxer is ruled by the referee as unable to safely continue to fight, based upon injuries or being judged unable to effectively defend themselves. When a boxer is knocked down, the other boxer must immediately stop fighting and move to the nearest neutral corner of the ring until the referee has either ruled a knockout or called for the fight to continue.</p>
<p>When in the ring boxers are prohibited from hitting below the belt, holding, tripping, pushing, biting, spitting or wrestling their opponent. They are also prohibited from kicking, head-butting, or hitting with any part of the arm other than the knuckles. If a boxer violates these rules then they may be ruled as fouls by the referee, who may issue warnings, deduct points, or disqualify an offending boxer which may cause an automatic loss depending on the seriousness of the foul committed.</p>
